This article is aimed at helping you identify whether your dream furniture will actually fit into your home. Whether you're eyeing a plush sofa or a standout piece, rest assured, our wonderful team have seen it all before, and are keen to make your home decor dreams come true, even in those tight spots.
Our Pieces and Our Dimensions
We have 3 different models of Sofas here at Sophie Conran. Cocobella (our collaborative product with John Lewis Partners), Coco and Salthrop.
When you are looking at the sofa dimensions on our website, it is important to be aware of the following features of our product
- Our feet come off and can be screwed into place - once the piece is in your home. This will save you 5cm of space
- Our cushions come off - the cushions extend beyond the frame on the back - please make sure you are looking at the Frame Height not the Cushion Height when you are reading dimensions
- The sofa can be tilted on its short end - for tight and awkward corners
- Many of our larger pieces can be made with a split frame. Our Cocobella Grand comes with a split frame as Standard. All of our Salthrop and Coco sofas are bespoke so this can be specified.
Your Space, Your Dimensions:
We know that every home is unique, and so are its dimensions. Before we embark on delivering your chosen furniture, we want to ensure a perfect fit. To ensure an easy delivery please let us know the dimensions of your doorways and any narrow areas along the stairs, especially any tight corners. If your ceiling height is low, please let us know what your ceiling height is. This will help ensure that your selected piece effortlessly slides into its new home. We would hate to mark any walls or scuff your new covers.
A Picture (or better still a video) Is Worth a Thousand Words:
Describing dimensions can sometimes be tricky. That's why we encourage you to be our eyes on the ground. Take a few photos and jot down some notes about potential obstacles, take note of tight corners and be mindful of what is on either side of doors and entryways. If you are able to video the journey through any door frames showing what is on either side of the door frames, our team will take it from there, using your visuals to plan a flawless delivery.
Delivering your sofa to its new home requires some consideration for accessibility. Our highly skilled delivery team will do everything they can to make the process as seamless as possible.
Before making your purchase, consider the path from the entrance of your home to the designated room. Measure the doorways, hallways and any stairs leading to your living space to ensure your new piece can reach its destination safely, as well as limit any damage to your home.
Corner Sofas, Sectional Sofas and Modulars Sofas for Seamless Access:
Worried about that generously sized sofa making its way through the door? Fret not! Our larger sofas such as Corner Units can be made in sectionals, coming in parts that effortlessly navigate through tight spots. Our wonderful team then assembles the piece in your home and our clever covers ensure that you do not see the joins. There are subtle changes to the price when you do this, as the more parts it comes in, means you use more materials and more labour.
