Twenty years of china, designed for the table you actually sit at.

The longest-running collaboration in the brand. Plates and bowls and mugs that have been on half a million British tables for two decades. Made in partnership with Portmeirion.

How it is made

A long supply chain, watched closely.

Designed in the UK

All design, product development, packaging, and quality inspection happens in the United Kingdom, in close collaboration with Portmeirion's UK testing lab.

Made in China

The porcelain is manufactured in China to a quality not available elsewhere, with industry-leading standards inspected by both Portmeirion's UK team and Sophie Conran's.

Glass from Turkey

All accompanying glassware is hand-blown in Turkey by master glassblowers chosen for the consistency and clarity of their work.

A glaze that lasts

The hardness of the glaze is a deliberate design choice. It survives daily use, dishwasher cycles, and decades of family meals. Pencil-mark abrasion from softer cutlery comes off with Bar Keepers Friend.

The twenty-year story

Twenty years and two and a half billion meals.

The partnership began in 2006 with a single white porcelain range. It is now my most established line, on tables across the British Isles and increasingly beyond.

My principle has not changed in twenty years: china should be beautiful enough to display and tough enough for everyday. The glaze on the Sophie Conran for Portmeirion range is so hard that softer cutlery can leave pencil marks on it (which come off with Bar Keepers Friend, since you ask). That is the whole point.

Around half a million British households now own a piece. If each plate has carried five thousand meals over the years, that is roughly two and a half billion family meals. I think about that often.

How shipping works

Sent to you direct from Portmeirion.

Your order is placed with us, then packed and dispatched by Portmeirion themselves: UK customers ship from the UK warehouse, US customers ship from the US warehouse. We chose this because it keeps the porcelain in fewer hands, and because their packing standards for fragile china are the best we have come across.

UK delivery is typically two to four working days. US delivery is typically four to seven. Returns and exchanges are handled by Portmeirion. We do not currently ship internationally.
