A fixed cover gives a more tailored, structured look, while a loose cover has a relaxed feel and can be removed on selected fabrics for easier care. You can also order a spare loose cover, giving you the flexibility to change the look of your sofa or have a fresh cover ready when needed.

Are the smaller pieces made differently to the larger sofas?
No. Our loveseats, two seaters and armchairs are made with the same care and attention as our larger sofas, using the same high-quality materials and traditional upholstery techniques. They are simply smaller in size.
Can a smaller sofa be made to fit a particular space?
Yes. All of our sofas are made to order and bespoke sizing is available, so if you have an alcove or an awkward corner to work with, we can help create a piece that fits it beautifully. Please email us at sofas@sophieconran.com for more details.
Should I choose a fixed or a loose cover?

Will a smaller sofa fit through my door or up my stairs?
Usually, and any of our pieces can be made sectional if access is difficult, so that it arrives in parts and is put together in the room. Send us the measurements of your doorway, hallway and staircase and we will tell you honestly what will go in. There is more on this on our Will it Fit page.
Can a smaller piece take a patterned fabric?
It can, and often beautifully. The thing to look at is the scale of the pattern rather than the boldness of the colours, since a very large repeat behaves differently across a compact frame than across a long sofa. Order a sample, hold it against the piece you are considering, and if the repeat feels too large for the sofa, it may be perfect on the armchair instead.
How do I choose between a small sofa and a pair of armchairs?
A loveseat or two seater is the easier answer where the room is mostly for relaxing together. A pair of armchairs creates a comfortable seating area without taking up the space of a larger sofa, and they can be moved and angled as the room needs. In a very small room, a loveseat with a single armchair is often the happiest arrangement of all.
