Henrietta is a sofa with true European heritage.
She is a very faithful reproduction of an antique sofa originally made in the late nineteenth to early twentieth century and gifted to Sophie by her mother many years ago. Rather than reinterpreting the design, Henrietta has been recreated exactly as it would have been made at the time, using traditional upholstery techniques and natural materials throughout.
Every Henrietta sofa is handmade in the UK by master upholsterers who still work in the old way, with patience, skill, and extraordinary attention to detail.
Traditional craftsmanship, exceptional comfort
Henrietta has a fully sprung seat base with individual springs tied by hand, providing deep comfort and long-term support. Unusually, the back of the sofa is also fully sprung, creating a softness and responsiveness that immediately sets her apart.
The single seat cushion is filled with a 70% feather and down blend, giving a welcoming, indulgent feel while still holding its shape beautifully.
Classical design, beautifully finished
Henrietta follows very classical lines, with a gentle sweep to the back and arms and carefully balanced proportions. She feels elegant and composed, with a confident presence that is likely to suit more formal interiors.
The upholstery is immaculate, with hand-finished piping and pleating throughout. The legs are individually hand carved in Italy, with carved ball feet that lift the sofa visually and add to her sense of refinement.
Bespoke and made to order
Henrietta is made on a bespoke basis and can be upholstered in a wide range of suitable fabrics. Sizes can be adapted to suit your space while remaining true to the original design.
For customers in the United States, Henrietta is handcrafted in the UK and shipped internationally.
